Children’s Missions

Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is held during one week each summer between the hours of 9 A.M. – 12 Noon. It is a successful outreach program because of all the hard working church volunteers who take part in the various activities. Children from 3 years old through 5th grade learn about the life of Jesus from the Hometown series of lessons. The children are divided into tribes and start each day with an opening celebration, followed by a Bible lesson with a verse to learn and a Bible point. Marketplace, Synagogue School, Fun and Games, God Sightings and snack lead up to a closing celebration. Children throughout our community are invited and encouraged to come join our own church children.

Family Movie Night

Mariner’s Family Movie Night is more like a Family Fun Night. Scheduled for the second Friday of each month, this event is designed to provide an atmosphere for families to spend time together in a Christian environment. Games including bean bag toss, jump rope, ring toss and hula hoop precede pizza and drinks. The movie with popcorn starts at 7 P.M. Families are asked to bring their own blanket to sit on while they enjoy the movie.

Easter Celebration

The annual Easter Celebration is held on the Saturday of Easter Weekend. Children are divided into different age groups for the traditional Easter Egg Hunt on the church grounds. Different stations throughout the Fellowship Hall will offer the Easter Story of Christ’s resurrection and Easter traditions. A walk-in tomb can be investigated as children learn about the resurrection. All participants can redeem their plastic eggs for prizes. The community is invited and encouraged to attend.

Fall Festival

The annual Fall Festival is held the last Saturday of October. Leaders from the Children’s programs and many other Mariner volunteers provide a fun filled event for our church children and those in our community. There are games, crafts, face painting, tattoos, spin art, bounce houses, haunted house, hay rides, pumpkin patch, “trunk or treat and more. Lots of fun, fellowship and good things to eat will be provided.
